Best Practices

Verify Container Data

Regularly audit container configurations to ensure they match actual packaging. Incorrect data affects shipping and load calculations.

Use Item-Level Rules Sparingly

Only override defaults when necessary. Too many exceptions make the system harder to manage.

Monitor Pricing

Review the Pricing tab regularly to ensure price groups are correctly assigned and up to date.

Keep Descriptions Current

Maintain accurate item descriptions to help team members quickly identify items.

Integration with Load Lists

Item configurations directly affect load list generation:
  • Container settings → Calculate total carts needed
  • Rules → Determine order quantities and constraints
  • Pricing → Calculate order values
  • Status → Filter available items for ordering
Understanding these connections helps you configure items optimally for your replenishment workflow.

Troubleshooting

Item Not Appearing in Load Lists

Check:
  1. Status - Ensure item is marked as active
  2. Availability - Verify availability windows include current date
  3. Location assignments - Confirm item is assigned to target locations
  4. Rules - Check if minimum order rules are preventing inclusion

Incorrect Cart Calculations

Review:
  1. Container utilization - Verify percentage or quantity is accurate
  2. Units per container - Ensure this matches actual container capacity
  3. Container code - Confirm it matches container configurations

Can’t Edit Item

Possible causes:
  • Item is locked by another user
  • Insufficient permissions
  • Item is referenced in active orders
Solutions:
  1. Check with team members who may be editing
  2. Verify your user role permissions
  3. Complete or cancel active orders referencing the item
