Overview
The Space Planning feature allows you to visualize and manage how greenhouse space is allocated across your facility. The Setup View provides an interactive interface for planning space usage, viewing current allocations, and optimizing your greenhouse layout.Accessing Space Planning
Navigate to Produce > Data Management > Space Setup to configure space types and categories, or Produce > Space Planning to access the space planning interface.Space Setup Configuration
Before using the space planning features, you’ll need to configure your space types and categories in the Space Setup page.Accessing Space Setup

The Space Setup page is organized into two tabs:Space Categories Tab
Define categories to organize your growing spaces: What to configure:- Category Name: Descriptive name (e.g., “Propagation”, “Growing”, “Finishing”)
- Category Code: Short identifier for internal use
- Description: Additional details about the category’s purpose
- Grid view with sortable columns
- Inline editing - Click any cell to edit directly
- Add new categories - Use the “Add” button
- Delete categories - Remove unused categories
Space Types Tab
Define the specific types of spaces in your facility: What to configure:- Type Name: Descriptive name (e.g., “Bench”, “Floor”, “Hanging Basket Area”)
- Type Code: Short identifier for internal use
- Category: Assign to a space category
- Capacity: Default capacity for this type of space
- Unit: Unit of measurement (square feet, linear feet, etc.)
- Grid view with sortable columns
- Inline editing - Click cells to edit
- Category dropdown - Assign types to categories
- Add new types - Create custom space types
- Delete types - Remove unused types

Define Categories
Start by creating space categories that represent major groupings of your growing areas.

Add specific space types and assign each to a category. Include capacity information for accurate planning.

Use in Planning
Once configured, these space types and categories will be available in the Space Planning views.
Inline Editing
The Space Setup grids support inline editing for quick updates:- Click on any cell in the grid
- Edit the value directly
- Press Enter or click outside the cell to save
- Changes are saved automatically
Planning View
After configuring your space types and categories, use the Planning View to allocate and visualize greenhouse space. This view provides an interactive interface for managing space assignments and viewing current allocations.View Controls

Select Location
Use the location dropdown to choose which greenhouse or growing area to view.

Choose Time Period
Select the week or date range to view space allocations for that period.

Adjust View Settings
Configure display options such as zoom level and grouping preferences.
Space Visualization
The Setup View displays:- Available Spaces: Empty locations ready for allocation
- Allocated Spaces: Locations with assigned production
- Space Utilization: Visual indicators showing capacity usage
- Production Details: Hover or click to see what’s planted in each space
Working with Spaces
Viewing Space Details:- Click on any space to see detailed information
- View current and planned allocations
- See production history for that location
- Drag and drop to assign production to spaces
- Use bulk selection for multiple space assignments
- View conflicts and availability in real-time
Space Metrics
The interface provides key metrics:| Metric | Description |
