What is COUNT?

COUNT is Silver Fern’s mobile inventory app, available at count.silverfern.app. It handles day-to-day physical inventory work — counting, adjusting, receiving, and shipping — across three modes for different teams:
ModeWho uses itWhat it covers
RetailRetail store staffStore counts, drop offs, credits, and RFID scanning
FinishFinish / warehouse staffLot-based inventory changes, transfers, and receiving
MaterialMaterial handlersWarehouse cycle counts, count assignments, receiving, and shipping
COUNT is its own app (launched from the WorkSuite app launcher as “Count”). It opens to the mode you used last.

How It Works

COUNT is offline-first: products, locations, and lots are cached on the device, and every entry is saved locally before it’s posted.
  1. Enter counts or changes — they save on the device immediately, even with no connection
  2. Review Saved — a toolbar badge shows how many entries are waiting; review, edit, or delete them
  3. Post — entries post to the server in batches; the app also retries automatically in the background every few seconds while online
  4. Review Completed — see what posted successfully; failed entries keep their error message for retry

Barcode Scanning

All modes are built around hardware barcode scanners (the scan field auto-focuses and re-focuses after each entry) with manual entry as a fallback. Retail mode also supports RFID scanning for bulk counts where enabled.

Settings

From the Settings page you can switch profiles (environments), adjust text size, toggle dark mode, view the error log, and check app/storage info.
Delete App Database in Settings wipes locally saved data — the app warns you if unposted entries exist. Don’t use it (or log out) while entries are still unposted.
